What Is My ISP?

The internet provider your connection goes through right now

Finding your internet provider…

How We Find Your ISP

Your provider gives your connection its public IP address. We look that address up in our own copy of DB-IP's database, which records which network (AS number) owns each block of addresses. Nothing is sent to a third party and the result isn't stored.

The same lookup works for any address on our IP lookup tool. To see your full IP details, including IPv6, use What Is My IP.

What Your ISP Can See

  • The sites you connect to, from DNS lookups and the site name in each HTTPS connection.
  • When and how much you use the internet.
  • Your IP address history, which it keeps to answer legal requests.

Run our DNS leak test to see whether your ISP handles your DNS lookups, even with a VPN on.

ISP FAQs

Quick answers to common questions.

An internet service provider is the company that connects you to the internet: your home broadband provider, your mobile carrier, or the network of the café or office Wi-Fi you're on.
Some providers resell another company's network, so the network owner shows instead of the brand on your bill. If you're on a VPN, proxy or iCloud Private Relay, you'll see that network instead.
Your ISP can see which sites you connect to, and the names you look up if it handles your DNS. HTTPS hides page contents but not the site name. A VPN encrypts everything between you and the VPN server, so the ISP only sees that you're connected to a VPN.
Check your router's admin page or your broadband bill. On a phone, the carrier name in Settings is your mobile ISP. This page is the quickest way to see the network your traffic actually leaves through.
